God Is Selective

God Selects without prejudice

Creation of Adam (public domain) by Michelangelo, c. 1511 – modified

If you understand God, you know He is selective. His selective nature is NOT arbitrary in that He respects one person more than another. The verse below points out that God is not partial to any person but all fall under the same guidelines, namely His word.

1 Peter 1:17

17 And if you call on the Father, who without partiality judges according to each one’s work, conduct yourselves throughout the time of your stay here in fear;

God is not a man nor does He think like a man. God has given man the ability to think, to reason, to be creative but in this regard mankind has an infinitesimally small capability compared to God. Man has the ability to choose, to select what he believes. God knows man can select God and God as the God of the bible, but that few will because it requires a God defined lifestyle. The choice that is ultimately made to reject God and the bible usually has a component of pride, of selfishness, and a strong will that says, “I will live as I choose.” So many people will never even enter the race for heaven, but live distant from God. Many who believe in God will also fail and never get into the race but will be overcome by their desire to live a worldly existence. Trying to live a godly existence as well as a worldly existence indicates a lack of dedication to God and thus failure.

Matthew 6:24

24″No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be loyal to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and mammon.

Mammon is a reference to materialism, riches and may include the idea of greed. God makes the very definitive statement that you cannot serve Him in an acceptable manner and be self-seeking.
The net result is such people never truly find and embrace the truth in this dual existence. There are also a large number of people who are sincere about being successful and are willing to forgo the things of this life. They also frequently fail since they do not have a deep love of the truth. They accept the religions of man. Catholics are a good example of a large group of people who fall into a trap and never even consider they are following man-made doctrine. Yet it is most obvious, and the error is so obvious in its history, its doctrines and its inventions. Study with an open mind, the most fundamental belief of Catholicism, that is their creation of a pope and find your way, away from the Catholic Church. It is very likely that the leadership of Catholicism today is just as indoctrinated as their members. When you begin with the premise that Catholicism is true you look to justify everything Catholic. Don’t start there, start with, “What Is The Truth” and your chances of escaping Catholicism are much better. Jesus stated a universal truth and revealed the Divine nature in His warning which points to the fact you are not excused if you are taught wrongly.

Matthew 15:14

14 “Let them alone. They are blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind leads the blind, both will fall into a ditch.”

God selects to reject those who reject Him, those who even reject His existence. Atheists, who often claim people are irrational to believe in God in fact are irrational to deny the obviousness of God. God is perfectly rational but prejudice clouds the conclusions of many people. God selects to reject Agnostics because they try to stand on the fence and think there is some safety there. Essentially Agnostics deny God by not accepting Him and in the end never learn the truth.
God selects to reject those who follow after Allah, for God is not Allah. Islam is the invention of one man. Similarly, some person or persons invented the golden calf of Moses time, as was Baal during the time of the prophets and the hundreds of god’s created in the minds of men and women over the history of the world.
God selects to reject those who are Mormons because their religion is not the doctrine of Christ.

2 John 1:9

9 Whoever transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

God selects to reject those who accept Jesus as their personal Savior because mentally accepting Jesus is not what God demands. God requires you do ALL He requires for salvation. The mental acceptance of Christ is the first step, your belief that Jesus is God’s Son is the beginning you need but your sins are not forgiven. Why in the world a person will not do ALL THE SAVIOR ASKS is just unbelievable but even more unbelievable is that any person could teach that mentally accepting Jesus places you in a relationship with Him.
God selects to reject Catholics because their religion is man-made and consequently they never learn the truth so they could live faithfully. Despite an incredible effort to prove they have a special relationship to God there is absolutely no evidence and in fact any non-prejudiced study reveals the most significant deceit of any religion. This does not mean Catholics are evil but to the contrary they are typically “good” people wanting to serve God. They live and most will die the victims of cunningly devised indoctrination.

God also selects to reject those who DO OBEY HIM but do not remain faithful to Him unto death. God selects to share heaven with those who obey Him and remain faithful, serving Him unto death.

God is selective in defining sin. It is sin that will decide man’s fate and sin is simply rejecting God’s direction, God’s rules. Rules that exist ONLY because man is being tested. God selected Jesus as the answer to sin and makes it clear that since all men sin, all men require a relationship with Jesus in order to be successful. That relationship comes only with obedience, from following the law of Christ.

Help From Heaven Coach

Heaven Coach is all about helping you get to heaven. This page is discussing God’s selection process and some of the obstacles are mentioned, mostly religious obstacles in the form of formal organized religions. The remainder of the page discusses the selection process from God’s perspective. God has a intelligent plan that accomplishes His goal, His very reason for creating mankind. There is indeed a specific path for mankind to be successful in life and it is narrow. The one thing usually standing in the way is pride; you know the thing other people have but we cannot see in ourselves. We all have pride but we cannot, must not let it stand in the way of finding the truth and living it.

Words about God's selection

God is selective in the judgment of each man and woman, selecting to reject those who die in their sins. Jesus indicates the seriousness of sin in the following verse:

John 8:24

24 “Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.”

God is not fooled and knows each person actually better than they know themselves and will condemn those who sin or promote sin or are casual in rejecting sin.
Abortion is a good example:
Those having abortions have sinned, those supporting the cause of abortion have sinned and those who will take no stand on abortion when given the opportunity are lukewarm and also sin.

Lying is another example:
The liar sins, those who defend the liar, knowing he/she has lied also sin. A casual liar is one who knowingly takes a persons words out of context to gain some benefit and in effect tells a serious lie, even slandering a person or group of people. All lies condemn a person, as does all sin. Some of the things resulting from sin, such as the person who misleads others in a lie and harms them will have to make amends.
God, of course, provided an answer to sin that allows every person the opportunity to be successful. Life is difficult for everyone and God selects those with good hearts who overcome, who can see beyond this life to share heaven. Specifically he does that by accepting those who have a relationship to His Son by obedience. That relationship places a veil over their sin.

1 John 4:10

10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Propitiation is the idea of being covered, veiled and sin is forever covered as a result. This fundamental understanding of God is essential. God cannot accept sin and thus the great sacrifice of Jesus was indeed the only acceptable solution. God has done His part and in that act demonstrated His love for man. Man has a part also wherein love is demonstrated towards God as the scriptures teach in Hebrews 5.9, Jesus became the author of salvation to all those who obey Him.

God Is Not Like Man
Your Thoughts Are Not His Thoughts

Isaiah 55:8,9

8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the LORD.
9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts.

God is not the way you want Him to be, but He is perfectly fair and true to HIS WORD. This may not be your idea of God, instead you may think God should be this way or that way. You may believe God should share your perspective of human life, of suffering, of fairness, of eternity. The life test is all about submitting to God’s will, which He says is not burdensome.

1 John 5:3

For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome.

The letters are written to the church, that is to those who are children of God by their obedience in a local church. God’s commands are not burdensome to His children but certainly they seem burdensome to those who look at life much differently, trying to live for themselves, to gain personally from everything. This is again God’s test – when you are devoted to God, to Jesus the commands are looked at as opportunities for service to God and certainly not burdensome even if they may be difficult. God’s children look beyond this life but those living only for this life reject God as the God of the bible because “that god” has seemingly burdensome commands. It becomes terribly easy (for God) to differentiate those who will succeed from those who will fail – no close calls! It turns out that God’s commands are not really burdensome to any person in relation to the burden of failing in this life.

God’s use of the word predestination

At the beginning of this page it is emphasized that God is not a respecter of persons. So, when God refers to being predestined we know this does not mean any person is predestined to succeed or fail. The verses using the idea of predestined are referring to the plan that God predestined to reconcile man.

Ephesians 1:11

11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will

The plan, the inheritance were predestined and that all began to unfold back in Genesis 3.15 and was culminated in Jesus death, burial and resurrection. The plan was certainly predestined and as a result you can become a child of God having had your sins forgiven. God’s purpose works all things according to the counsel of His will. God’s is selective but limits His selectivity to conform exactly with His predestined plan. So, when you go into God’s word you can know what to expect in terms of personal success or failure.

When you reject His word you reject your opportunity for a successful life.
God selected to test man and the test is going exactly as He planned. The test allows a man/woman to live as they wish, to follow those who oppose God and to openly blaspheme God. The test allows humankind to create reasonable scenario’s to doubt God’s existence and/or reject that, “God is the God of the bible.” Rejecting God and the bible are seriously faulty conclusions but a man or woman who wishes to believe such can create “reasonable” concepts and be satisfied. It is indeed a perfect plan to separate those who will succeed in life from those who will fail. God will retain, it seems, just a few but they will be deeply deserving in the eyes of God. Man might believe God will save most people and this is just another lie and the result is many people, really most people are trying to live an existence IN COMPARISON to others. However, it is not you versus anyone else but you versus sin.
Many people hold so closely to the earth and think in terms of being good stewards of the earth – and that is fine. However, that is not what life is all about. Life is about the soul, God will destroy the earth, the universe and even the works that have occurred. You will stand before God and be judged. You want to come before God, having Jesus as your advocate. You can be certain there will be just a few acceptable to God. Realizing this, you can do something about it!

God has selected to reject the proud
Those who fail will all in some way fall to selfish pride

God makes the selections and has graciously advised mankind in His word regarding how He selects everything. Anyone can succeed but pride, selfishness stand in your way. The only prize that matters is blinded to you because you choose not to see past your present existence. Some will see into the future, believing God, trusting God and as a result make their lives a living sacrifice acceptable to God. They will pass the test and be selected by God for heaven.

God selected to show man that indeed He loves His creation in a way that man could understand how great was His love, His concern, His desire for men and women to succeed. So, He took a part of His Divine nature, His very Son and had Him live as a man. Additionally, it was not a royal existence but a rugged, difficult existence that ended in the most treacherous suffering and death. Some men with good hearts will make the connection that God loves them while others will doubt, deny and ridicule Jesus in their blasphemy and persecute those who follow Him. As mentioned in some way pride becomes before your destruction.

Proverbs 16:18

18 Pride goes before destruction, And a haughty spirit before a fall.

This is great information for those who care and are willing to submit to God’s will. You need to avoid pride, avoid a haughty spirit, that is a spirit of placing yourself above others, a spirit of selfishness. These will come before your ultimate destruction. Jesus, in Matthew 18.1-4 points to the opposite, namely, humility as a characteristic related to the kingdom of heaven.

The following verse talks about the god of this age blinding those who will fail. The god of this age is really your personal god. The things that you highly esteem and fill your life and it might be pleasure, riches, duty, power, family or any number of selfish or unselfish things. You alone are responsible for your choices and it is your choices that blind you in this age. YOU reject Jesus, loving your present life, while not perhaps having time for truth, for God.

2 Cor 4:4

4 whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

As you grow to understand God you will realize that God will only accept those who love Him as shown in their obedience. Human wisdom is enabling and forgiving and envisions all sorts of people achieving heaven. God will not be spending eternity with those who are less than His high standards. You can presently be a mess, be confused and yet you can find your way and become a strong person, a forgiven person. There is only one way you can receive God’s forgiveness. Those who come through life successfully will have characteristics worthy of heaven and a love of the truth. God’s test perfectly divides people. You may find some little mental ways to safeguard yourself using your logic. You may think questioning God’s ability to be fair in every case provides you comfort. You may believe you are as good as most people – even better and thus you will do as well as most. Perhaps, you find comfort in some excuse, some special circumstance such as, “you just followed what you were taught as a child.” None of these things should comfort you because they are YOUR ideas and unless you submit to God you will never understand what is acceptable and what is unacceptable. Obey the gospel is acceptable.
